What is a RainDance "Water Saver" RO?
The "Low Waste" Water Saver reverse osmosis drinking water filters provide superior water quality, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of bottled water, while saving up to 4 times the water of conventional under the sink drinking water RO systems. Standard under-the-counter reverse osmosis drinking water filters will drain and waste up to 4-7 gallons of water for every gallon of purified water made, but the Water Saver GRO Membranes are specially designed to save water and provide an incredible 1:1 product to waste ratio.

What impurities will a reverse osmosis system remove?
Reverse osmosis (RO) has become a common method for the treatment of household drinking water supplies. Effectiveness of RO units depends on initial levels of contamination and water pressure. RO treatment may be used to reduce the levels of:
1) Naturally occurring substances that cause water supplies to be unhealthy or unappealing (foul tastes, smells or colors).
2) Substances that have contaminated the water supply resulting in possible adverse health effects or decreased desirability.
RO systems are typically used to reduce the levels of total dissolved solids and suspended matter. The principal uses of reverse osmosis are for the reduction of salt, chloride, nitrate, sulfate, sodium, arsenic, metals, and total dissolved solids. Reverse Osmosis Purification Systems have also been found to be extremely effective in removing Gen X and PFAS such as PFOA & PFOS Chemicals.
All of our RO units utilize pre & post carbon filters which can also reduce the level of chlorine, chemical tastes and odors, and some SOCs (soluble organic compounds) like pesticides, dioxins and VOCs (volatile organic compounds like chloroform and petrochemicals), and provide final taste & odor polishing.

Why do I need a booster pump?
A reverse osmosis booster pump can be particularly useful if your mains water pressure is low, as this can mean any water that’s being filtered won’t be quite as clean and pure as it could be. By using an RO booster pump, you can significantly increase the amount of cleaner water that’s produced by your RO unit.
Better Quality Water A booster pump can also improve the quality of your well water or city treated water. When the RO system operates at its optimal pressure, it can remove a wider range of contaminants, including, salt, heavy metals, bacteria, and viruses. This means the water you drink and use for cooking and cleaning will be cleaner and healthier.
